Targeted training programs. Whether you are just getting started, are already somewhat fit, or are working on higher level skills, we have an optimal program for you.
Every day is programmed. Even if its a day off, we will offer some advice on how to have nice easy low days. As well as that we will educate physiologically and psychologically what works best for recovery both from training but from life as well. Check out our app video detailing the process at the end.
Structured goals. Each TMC (The Movement Coach) program is based on specific strength & conditioning training progressions. Bodyweight strength benchmarks, absolute strength benchmarks, and conditioning benchmarks, are drawn from the Movement Coach system. We then develop a specific, detailed plan to guide your progress toward all of these goals. Making progress toward multiple goals at the same time is not easy, but with careful planning it is possible!
Warm-up routines. The Online Programs warm-ups are carefully planned to prepare your muscles and joints for that day’s work, and to facilitate long-term improvement in joint mobility and stability. We work off the basis that everyone at some level is fighting modern sedentary movement issues with alot of focus around relieving neck and back pain through strength training. This is really our speciality, getting you from sedentary lifestyle ready to play, lift, run and train.
Periodized strength training. Every TMC program follows a periodized planning cycle. Yearly cycles are sub-divided into quarterly macro-cycles, further broken down into 3-4 week meso-cycles, and even shorter micro-cycles. All of this planning on our part ensures maximum results for you.
Cycled conditioning. Simply trying to “work harder” is not an effective long term strategy. The TMC program targets different energy system pathways in planned development cycles. Some days will feel easy, some days hard, but you will make long term progress in your conditioning and feel alot fresher day to day long term.
Joint mobility. From the warm-up routines, to the strength training movements, to the post workout recovery routines, the entire TMC program is designed to improve stability and range of motion in all of your body’s major joints.
Full Body Movement Approach. Benchmarks within the TMC levels are carefully calibrated to ensure that your strength development is balanced throughout your body. Our entire strength development program takes this balanced development into account. This approach ensures that you will be able to move past previous plateaus, as well as avoid many common causes of training related chronic pain.
Recovery and Regeneration sessions and phases. We realise you cannot go hard all the time. Within programs, weeks, months and years we plan regeneration phases on a micro and macro level. This is to allow our body recover and regenerate. This is an integral part of our overall philosophy. A Biopsychosocial approach to health and fitness.
Instruction. A major part of our commitment to you is to provide clear guidance on every aspect of our program. Detailed instructions are provided for each daily workout. A clear video demonstration is provided for every exercise movement. You will never have to guess what we are asking you to do. We also many other longer instructional videos, providing detailed guidance for all major exercises but also as to why we are doing what we are doing. It's true no generic program will be able to deliver the same benefits as a training plan tailored specifically for you. However we have years of experience in working with clients like you and the modern sedentary world throws up the same things over and over. The TMC “Strong for Life” program comes as close as possible to guiding you to the results of a fully individualized plan. Within the program you will have loading options, you may want to do more "Aerobic" than "Strength" and you can load that to suit yourself with gentle instruction from us. Critically there is a feed where you or anyone can ask questions. Here is the real gold for both us and you, we get to give our professional expertise to you as a group of people on the feed and bits of advice on where to go with certain approaches, exercises, resting etc. This has worked really well on our FieldFit Program (Gaelic Games based sister program).
